Private by design.
Effective August 18, 2026
The short version
The free readiness check does not require an account or email address and does not accept document uploads. Assessment answers are processed in your browser unless you choose a private-link save or purchase a Lender Prep Pack. BorrowerDesk does not send your deal to a lender, broker, or paid partner.
Information stored on your device
If you choose “Save in browser,” BorrowerDesk stores your answers and current step in local storage on that browser and device. That saved progress remains until you start over, clear site data, or replace it with a later save. It is not synchronized between devices.
Optional private-link saves
If you choose “Save online,” BorrowerDesk stores your assessment answers, current step, and any optional business name or state you entered. The service returns a private recovery link and stores only a one-way hash of its secret token. No account or email address is required. Anyone who has the complete link can open, update, or delete that saved check, so treat it like a password. Online saves expire after 90 days.
Paid Lender Prep Packs
If you purchase a Lender Prep Pack, BorrowerDesk stores the assessment snapshot used to create the paid report, an order identifier, payment status, amount, currency, purchase email, and private-link token hash. This information is used to confirm payment, deliver the report, restore access, prevent fraud, provide support, and maintain transaction records. BorrowerDesk does not receive or store your full card number, bank credentials, or card security code.
Stripe payments
Payment is processed on Stripe’s hosted checkout. Stripe collects the payment and billing information needed to complete the transaction and returns transaction status, an order reference, amount, currency, and customer email to BorrowerDesk. Stripe handles payment information under its own privacy terms.
Resend delivery email
BorrowerDesk uses Resend to send purchase confirmation and private report-recovery links. The delivery request includes the purchase email, message contents, order reference, and private access link. Resend may process delivery, bounce, complaint, and related technical events under its own privacy terms.
Purchase recovery
A purchase can be recovered by entering the email used at checkout. BorrowerDesk returns the same on-screen response whether or not an order matches. Matching paid orders receive a newly generated private link, and the previous report link stops working.
Information hosting infrastructure may receive
Like most websites, hosting and security infrastructure may process routine technical information such as IP address, device and browser details, requested pages, timestamps, and diagnostic events. BorrowerDesk does not use assessment answers to sell leads.
First-party product measurement
BorrowerDesk records a small set of anonymous interaction events to understand whether the product is working. These include starting or completing the assessment, saving or printing a report, and beginning or leaving checkout. The events use a random session identifier and do not include your name, email address, business name, financial inputs, assessment answers, score, or report contents. Paid-order records are maintained separately from anonymous product events.
Retention and security
Private-link saves expire after 90 days. Paid-order and delivery records may be retained for report access, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal obligations. BorrowerDesk uses restricted production secrets, one-way hashes for private access tokens, signed Stripe webhooks, rate limits, and access-controlled operations tools. No internet service can promise absolute security.
Do not enter sensitive data
Do not enter Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, bank credentials, account numbers, full dates of birth, or other sensitive personal information. The assessment does not request those details.
Third-party links
Links to SBA.gov, Stripe, Resend, and other external sites are governed by those sites’ own privacy practices. Following an external link leaves BorrowerDesk.
Changes
This notice will be updated before BorrowerDesk adds any account, document upload, advertising, lender-introduction, or other feature that materially changes these practices.
